Women’s Business Enterprise National Council

Legacy Materials is proud to be certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). In order to receive this certification, business must be at least 51% owned, controlled, operated and managed by a woman or women.

When you partner with a WBENC-Certified Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE), such as Legacy Materials, you gain a number of benefits. One of these benefits is a number of tax incentives. The federal government affords tax incentives to those who conduct business with minority and women-owned businesses. In addition to tax incentives, tax liabilities are reduced for projects funded with federal or state grants or loans when the supplier is a woman-owned business.

In a recent study, working with a WBENC-Certified business can increase profitability by up to a 130% return on investment. Additionally, WBENC-certified WBE’s are among the fastest-growing sector of our economy. When working with Legacy Materials and other women-owned businesses, you show your company’s commitment to working in diverse markets, as well as a commitment to your community’s growth.

The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council helps to level the playing field for women’s business owners. Due to government regulations and restrictions, women-owned small businesses are underrepresented. As a WBENC-Certified WBE, Legacy Materials becomes eligible to compete for federal contracts.

WBENC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides certification to women-owned businesses throughout the country and offers programming and resources to help women-owned businesses thrive. Its mission is to fuel economic growth globally by identifying, certifying, and facilitating the development of women-owned businesses.
